PORSCHE 964 “JORGE”: FROM CONCEPT TO THE ROAD

From a used car to a finished Porsche 964, and on to the road and the racetrack.

A DAVID ATELIER project does not end with its completion. It is only when the vehicle is in operation that it becomes clear how restoration, technical refinement, and fine-tuning work together as an overall concept.

The Porsche 964 “Jorge” was rebuilt step by step and consistently refined according to the DAVID ATELIER approach: preserving originality, selectively integrating modern technology, and creating a vehicle that not only looks great but also feels right behind the wheel.

So once the work was finished, we headed out of the workshop—onto the road and up Bilster Berg.

“Jorge” ON THE STREET

A classic Porsche 964, designed for the ultimate driving experience.
After the engine, paint job, assembly, and final tuning, a project’s true character is revealed where it counts most: on the road.

With the Porsche 964 “Jorge,” the goal from the very beginning was not to make as many changes as possible. The car’s good original condition was preserved, technical components were specifically upgraded, and every detail was tailored to the overall concept.

The result is a Porsche 964 that retains its classic characteristics while also benefiting from modern technical advancements.

On the road, classic lines, an analog driving experience, and modern tuning come together.

PRESERVING ORIGINALITY.
TAKING THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

A DAVID ATELIER project isn’t meant to work only in the workshop or in pictures. What matters most is how the finished vehicle moves, how it responds, and what kind of character it conveys behind the wheel.

“Jorge” AT BILSTER BERG

When technological advancements translate into a true driving experience.
On a racetrack, the suspension, brakes, balance, and tuning are put to the test in ways that are different from those encountered on public roads.

Bilster Berg therefore provides the perfect setting to experience how the individual design choices made for the Porsche 964 project interact with one another.

The goal here is not to turn “Jorge” into a pure race car. Rather, the focus is on a well-balanced overall concept that preserves the original character of the Porsche 964 while also enabling more precise, modern driving dynamics.

At Bilster Berg, it becomes particularly clear what DAVID ATELIER’s OEM+ approach entails: implementing modern solutions where they meaningfully enhance the vehicle without altering its identity.
