BMW Sauber F1 Show Car – F1.05 A / C24B Design – Formula 1 Presentation Vehicle

An exceptional BMW Sauber Formula 1 show car from the early days of the BMW Sauber F1 Team is up for sale.

The car features the distinctive BMW Sauber design from the 2006 season, complete with the historic sponsor livery of PETRONAS, Intel, Credit Suisse, Dell, and O2, and embodies one of the most exciting periods in BMW’s recent motorsport history.

Following BMW’s acquisition of Sauber, the new BMW Sauber F1 Team was formed in late 2005.
Even before the actual BMW Sauber F1.06 was put into service, the Sauber C24 was further developed into the C24B and used as an interim car for the first BMW Sauber test runs.

This concept car is inspired by precisely this transitional phase and the vehicle designs of that era.
Historically, this era is particularly associated with drivers such as Nick Heidfeld, Jacques Villeneuve, Robert Kubica, and Sebastian Vettel.

Among other things, the C24B was used during the early test drives of the new BMW Sauber F1 Team. Robert Kubica drove it during test drives in Barcelona and Valencia in early 2006.

Sebastian Vettel’s early association with BMW Sauber also falls within this extraordinary era.
The vehicle offered here is expressly a display and presentation vehicle without a powertrain and is not a road-ready former Formula 1 race car.

The early BMW Sauber cars hold special historical significance today.
They mark the beginning of the BMW Sauber F1 Team and, with it, the era that later gave rise to, among other things, Robert Kubica’s first Formula 1 victory for BMW. The connection to Sebastian Vettel is also particularly intriguing: even before winning his four Formula 1 world championships, Vettel was part of the BMW Sauber junior program and was already active as a test and Friday driver for the team in 2006.
A vehicle of this type is extremely rare on the market today.
There is no documented record of the exact number of BMW-Sauber show and presentation vehicles built at that time.
